In the world of digital software, some media opt to create a universe of small segmented apps or, as Milenio did, to arm a “killer” product that includes everything that the tablet and mobile user could possibly need: news, services, the newspaper’s print edition, live sports news and, given the audiovisual nature of these devices, even the group’s television and radio programmes. These are different strategies for a common goal: to go beyond the news.
